I’m having a mini giveaway, check it out here.
The challenge at Crafty Muse this week is to use this picture as inspiration. All I can say is Yummy!
When I saw this picture, I knew what image I wanted to use -- Mushroom House.
I tried several things for this card but I just didn’t have the correct mediums to color it with. I first tried coloring with Prismas and OMS and it’s really hard to put that huge area of saturated color with pencils. I have Bic and Sharpie markers in every color but they bled through the paper and didn’t give me crisp lines. I knew that I would have issues with color saturation for watercolors so I decided to paper piece! After that decision, easy peasy.
I printed the image on the reverse side of two colors of paper from the DP from the DCWV Green paper stack and the cut them out. I also printed one on white cardstock, cut out the windows and colored them with Prismas.
I think the buttons add a whimsical touch to the mushroom (get it, button mushroom?). I added a little rick rack and a couple more buttons from by big white button bottle.
I used the Sketch Saturday sketch. After making the card I had a lookie see of all the challenges and it also fits. Raspberry Ribbons is is circles and Paper Play is favorite candy (of course, chocolate).
So come one over to Crafty Muse and play along. You don’t have to use a Crafty Muse image but, why not, they’re so much fun to work with! Plus, if you do, you’ll receive two entries for a chance to win!
Blessings,
Christine
