My Sad Muse

Crafty Muse has decided to close it doors.  We are are having one last challenge.  Here’s my card for the challenge.

100_3482_optI used the Hiker image and water colored him.  The challenge was to also add some doodling.  I’m not much of a doodler; it kind of scares me to write on a perfectly good card.  I might mess it up.  The DP is from the DCWV Green stack.

Just a quick post for tonight.  I’ll have some DT stuff tomorrow.  It might be up late.  My sister is coming over to help me and I think it might be rude to get on the computer while she is working around the house.

Blessings,
Christine

Button Mushroom -- Crafty Muse Challenge

I’m having a mini giveaway, check it out here.

crafty muse due 7-15

The challenge at Crafty Muse this week is to use this picture as inspiration.  All I can say is Yummy!

When I saw this picture, I knew what image I wanted to use -- Mushroom House.

100_3234I tried several things for this card but I just didn’t have the correct mediums to color it with.  I first tried coloring with Prismas and OMS and it’s really hard to put that huge area of saturated color with pencils.  I have Bic and Sharpie markers in every color but they bled through the paper and didn’t give me crisp lines.  I knew that I would have issues with color saturation for watercolors so I decided to paper piece!  After that decision, easy peasy.

I printed the image on the reverse side of two colors of paper from the DP from the DCWV Green paper stack and the cut them out.  I also printed one on white cardstock, cut out the windows and colored them with Prismas.

I think the buttons add a whimsical touch to the mushroom (get it, button mushroom?).  I added a little rick rack and a couple more buttons from by big white button bottle.

I used the Sketch Saturday sketch.  After making the card I had a lookie see of all the challenges and it also fits.  Raspberry Ribbons is is circles and Paper Play is favorite candy (of course, chocolate).

So come one over to Crafty Muse and play along.  You don’t have to use a Crafty Muse image but, why not, they’re so much fun to work with!  Plus, if you do, you’ll receive two entries for a chance to win!

Blessings,

Christine

Crafty Muse DT

I’ve been keeping this quiet until I had a card to post so now I can tell you.  I was chosen a member of the Design Team for Crafty Muse.  I am happy to be part of this team and to be able to use their lovely images in my creations!

I chose two images for my card.  Sitting Princess Amber and the tree from the Once Upon a Time series to make a kind of scene.

I made a ribbon frame strung with beads that spell out Live, Dream, Wish and Hope.

The beads are kind of like baby bracelet beads but the are metallic colored and square.  I added jeweled brads to each corner.  The DP is from the DCWV Green stack.

Thanks for stopping by to see my first Crafty Muse DT card.  I’m honored to serve with all the talented ladies at Crafty Muse.

If you would like to play along, just head on over to the Crafty Muse blog!!!

Blessings,

Christine
