My Last Flutterby

2nd Post for Today.

Some of you may know, Danni decided to restructure the Flutterby Wednesday challenge and had a design team call within the current design team. She felt there were too many members on the team and she wanted to scale back. Well, I wasn’t chosen to continue on when the FBW challenge resumes in July. That’s right, they are taking the month of June off from the challenges. I’m kinda’ sad to leave but as one of my favorite quotes says, “If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.” -Author Unknown

Wow, I should have added that quote to my card. Maybe I will!

This weeks challenge is open so all you have to do is include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. Be sure to head over to the FBW challenge blog and have a look at what the other DT have made. You won’t want to miss them because they are always beautiful creations.

Now, a personal note to my fellow DT, those who are staying and those who are leaving, I have really enjoyed being on this DT and seeing your beautiful work each week. I will miss you all but let’s not be strangers. And Danni, thanks for believing that I was ready to be on a design team and having faith that I could do it.

It’s Wednesday…

so that means it’s Flutterby Wednesday!  Our challenge this week is an easy one.  It was set by fellow DT member, Kimberly, and it’s to use flowers on your creation.  Of course, you need to also include a butterfly, fairy or angel.  You all know how much I love my fairies and butterflies!!!

This is probably it for creations this week.  I need to continue working on my project for Digital Two for Tuesday (I just can’t wait to share these things with you) plus, I’m having a couple of local blogger friends over on Sunday for a stamping party!  We have never met before so I just can’t wait.  It’s going to be so much fun!  I’ve come up with a great project for us to work on.  I’ll definitely be posting pictures of the party!

A Flutterby Wednesday Oops!

Timeless Flutterbies

I’m tellin’ ya’ right up front.  I almost forgot to finish my Flutterby Wednesday card.  Shame on me!!!  I painted the image on Sunday!  If you remember, I had a migraine on Sunday and the best thing to deal with them is to watercolor something.  I pulled out this stamp and then the light bulbs lit!  This image is perfect for the FBW’s blue and green challenge!  Yay!!!  But then I didn’t remember to put the card together until about 1:00 am today.  Ya Wednesday!  So I finished what I was doing and then put this card together.  Now that I’ve taken the photos, weeded through them to find the best one and compiled this post, it’s after 3:00 am. 

What’s my point, you ask?  You ain’t gettin’ any details ‘till tomorrow!!!

Anyway, the challenge at FBW is to use the colors blue, green and white on your creation, as well as a butterfly, fairy or angel.  That’s it, pretty easy so there’s no reason not to play along.  Unless you don’t have blue and green paper, pencils, markers, etc.  But I betcha’ do!!!

Penelope’s Flutterbies

AN IRISH BLESSING

How about that to start out a beautiful St. Patrick’s Flutterby Wednesday? This is my favorite butterfly quote. I’m working on a Modge Podge butterfly plaque with this blessing on it. It will hang right outside my front door.

Now, on to Flutterby Wednesday! Our challenge this week is to make a St. Patrick’s themed project or to use green as the main color on your project. Also, of course, you must use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation!

Paper Makeup Stamps is our sponsor this week and they provided each of us with a digi stamp for our creation today. I do have the shamrock digi from PMS but I chose to use Penelope. The photo didn’t come out very well. The colors are so washed out. IRL, the deep colors in the background bring out the soft colors on the image but not so much in the photo. This is also the first time I have ever attempted to color black hair and I think it turned out well. I started slowly with light grey and built up to a color I liked.

The sentiment is good luck in Chinese (according to the website where I got it anyway). I thought that was appropriate for a card made for St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t normally make cards for the odd holidays so I didn’t want to go strictly St. Paddy’s.

100th Flutterby Wednesday!

A Tink Inspired Flutterby

Flutterby warning!!!  It’s Wednesday so that means we’ll be seeing a lot of flutterbies.  Yay, one of my favorite things!!!  Especially when they’re this cute.  This is the inspiration for this weeks challenge!  Of course, I LOVE Tink!  I love all fairies but I think it all started with Tink!Isn’t this image stunning!  It was the first digi stamp released by the very talented Elisabeth Bell.  She has a new one coming out any day now and she has a sneak peek on her blog.  It looks like it’s going to be a little girl and boy playing patty cake.  That’s my guess anyway.

Butterfly Dreams

It’s Flutter By Wednesday today!  Yay, I love Wednesdays!!!

I didn’t use one of my stamps that the guy in the Big Brown Truck left.  I just couldn’t get the inspiration with that one.  But I used another one I love.  Plus, I got to play with my Copics again!  I really love how this turned out however it really looks even better IRL.  Oh, the sentiment is from my new set!

I wish I would have colored the flowers a different color but I still have a limited number of colors.  With the Copics Club at Paper Maniac, I am accumulating shades of each color but still have limited colors.  I can’t wait to see what the come up with for March’s set.  Me thinks green, huh?

A Fairy with a Heart

Butterfly Tree

It’s Wednesday so that means it’s another Flutter By Wednesday challenge.

This weeks challenge is love.  Do you see anything to do with love on my card?  No?  That’s because I forgot and thought it was an open challenge again this week.  Oops!

Guess what I did this week?  I used my Copics to color today’s creation!  Yay me!  And thanks to Steph for telling me about the eraser/clear thingy.  I still try to stay in the lines but when I miss a bit, oh well.  I can just fix it!!!  That’s one reason I love water coloring so much.  You can just use water to fix most problems!

Before I left for Utah, I had decided to rearrange and reorganize my Creative Space.  Well, it started today.  I spent most of the day moving boxes and furniture to make room for the new floor plan.    Then I spent some time unpacking a few things so I could get my card done for FBW.  I’m so happy to be back in my room with things a little bit more accessible. 

I took some pictures tonight and will take more along the way and share the transformation with you sometime!

In the meantime, I’m going to have a lot of extra things around here that I will need to get rid of.  What will I do with them?  I’ll be thinking about that and come up with something! ;-)

Just Buggin’ Challenge

It’s another challenge a Just Buggin’ today.  I haven’t unpacked my Cricut so I didn’t get time to make something.  Our challenge this week is to make something with the theme of “Love” using at least one Cricut cut somewhere on your project.  You can make anything you'd like as long as it fits with the current challenge.

I’ll try to get it done sometime during the week.  I have it all designed; I just need to cut everything out and put it together!

Mariposa Beauty

It’s Flutter By Wednesday again!  Are you enjoying FBW since we moved to our new challenge blog!  We seem to be receiving a lot more participants so I guess you guys do!!!

I saw this beautiful Mariposa stack from DCWV and immediately broke my New Years resolution!  I had said that I wasn’t going to buy any paper until March.  Oops!!!  There are so many beautiful papers in that pack.  A lot of them are better for scrapbooking.  I have taken a lot of beautiful photos in my garden and plan to scrapbook them and this paper will be perfect!

I punched the MS doily lace border bunch and a bunch of MS butterflies for this card.  I also colored some tiny pearls and the Basic Grey pearl swirl with a Bic marker to add to the cuts.  I tied a bow with black organza ribbon and added the Papertrey Inc. sentiment.  I also used my favorite CAS layout.  I don’t really consider this card CAS because of all the patterns but thought that layout would work great!

I didn’t get a chance to get a card made this week for the Flutter By Wednesday challenge. I feel really bad but it’s been quite a stressful week here at my sister’s house in Utah.

I do have some other things to share with you though. First of all, did you all notice that this little bugger was hanging out on my post last week for FBW? If you read the challenge post on the FBW challenge blog, you know that this meant that I had candy to share!

I had originally planned to be home by now and to have made some headway into my creative space reorganization and gather some things to share with the winner. Since I haven’t gotten home yet, I decided to give away this stamp set instead!

You knew it had to have something to do with butterflies didn’t you?

Butterfly Charmer

It’s Flutter By Wednesday again. I {heart} Flutterby Wednesday almost as much as I love this beautiful fairy from Sketching Stamper.

She reminds me of the Pied Piper and how he played his flute and all the rats followed him to the river. 

I watercolored her in shades of blue and brown to match the paper in the DCWV Garden Party stack. With all that beautiful curly hair, I just had to color her hair red. I cut and matted her with my nesties and punched the coordinating paper with the MS doily lace punch. I added some blue and brown ribbon from Michaels. The colors don’t show up in the pic but, trust me, the ribbon is beautiful. I tied a flower on with some brown string and a vintage button and added a few extra vintage buttons. Gotta love my white vintage buttons!!!

A Fluttering Blog Hop

I’ve been promising some fun for the first challenge on the new Flutterby Wednesday blog, haven’t I? I sure hope you aren’t disappointed! It’s a blog hop!!!

Our challenge this week is “new” – as in the new Flutterby Wednesday challenge blog! Take that word as literally or figuratively as you like as long as you use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.

I’ve had and used the MS butterfly punch for awhile now but I recently purchased the medium/small combined punch so I decided to use it for the “new” challenge. I attempted to make it look like the butterflies were all flying up from the bow. Since I created this card several weeks ago before my trip to Utah, it’s been so hard to not create another card using that punch for all this time!

All of the paper (except white background) is from SEI Chocolat. I CB embossed the background and tied an organza bow around the whole thing adding a couple of stick pins for the antenna.

Now that you’ve seen my card, flutter on to the next stop, Harriet. I’m sure you will love what you see there. She always creates amazing cards for FBW. Well, I have to say, Harriet’s cards are always beautiful!!!

Thanks for Flutterby Wednesday

It’s been such a great year at Flutterby Wednesday so I decided to make a thank you card for this weeks challenge. Danni has made it easy on us for the last two weeks of the year and left us with open challenges. Just be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your creation.

Isn’t that flower gorgeous! I learned about it on Dawn McVey’s blog. I punched several scalloped circles out of newspaper and then held them together with a brad. I crumpled each layer of paper into the middle and then fluffed them all up. In person, it looks a lot like a carnation. I inked up the edges and glued a MS butterfly to the center! This flower looks so lush and is pretty much free!!! I love that price!.

The DP is Making Memories and I added some pearls colored with my Copics. I used an MS border punch, added the ribbon and a Thanks sentiment (I don’t know who makes it).

Sleepy Fairy

I’ve pre-scheduled this post so I sure hope it shows up!!!

Welcome to my Flutter By Wednesday post! This is our last week until we move to at the new home of FBW. We are going to have some fun there next week so be sure to come back! This weeks challenge is open so make anything you'ld like as long as you include a butterfly, fairy or angel.

This is one of my favorite fairy images! It’s by Charmed Crafts. She is so sweet. I wish I new what she’s dreaming about!

I watercolored her and added some Shimmerz to her wings. The DP is K&Co. and I used an MS border punch. I tied a big organza bow and added some Basic Grey buttons!

Since I’m typing this early I don’t have much to say. I’m in Utah by now and enjoying time with my sister and her family!!!

My Little Chickadee

Wow, I can’t believe there is only 2 more Wednesdays left in 2009. Wow! What a fast year and a great year! I’ve ‘met’ so many wonderful ladies this year around blogland. It’s been so much fun!!!

At Flutter By Wednesday, we have a lot in store for you in the new year! First of all, we’re moving. Danni is moving Flutter By Wednesday to its own home!!! The new FBW blog is up now so go check it out and become a follower so you won’t miss out on anything. For the first challenge on the new blog, we will be having a big party with festivities yet to be announced. We’re going to have some new guest designers as well so you won’t want to miss a thing!

This sweet little image is from Clear Art Stamps. I thought these birds looked like little chickadees (now say that like W.C. Fields wiggling your cigar between your fingers) so a attemped to paint them as such!

I colored the image with my watercolor paints and added some Shimmerz to her wings. The DP is DCWV Whimsy stack and I added some ribbon, a bow and some buttons! I’m addicted to the bows with buttons tied onto them!

Fluttery Angel Tag

This is the 5th post I’ve done today but only two that you can see here.  I have posted on the Just Buggin’ DT gallery and two scheduled posts for JB.  Phew!  ‘Scuse me if I don’t have much to say tonight!

Okay, now onto my Flutterby Wednesday card.

The challenge this week is to make a winter themed card and to include a butterfly, fairy or angel.  I made a simple tag for the challenge.  I cut the somewhat egg shaped tag with the Tags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge. 

I stamped a Hero Arts clear stamp with Versa Mark and heat embossed it silver.  I cut another tag from DCWV silver metalic paper (it kind of looks like duck tape) and added a snowflake shaped eyelet.  I strung some ribbon and string through, tied a bow and then tied the button with the string.  I sponged a little gray chalk to kind of tone down the bright white cardstock.
