Okay, when Holly sent this image, I kinda’ went GROSS!  But as I started painting it, I really warmed up to this cute little worm.  wormy cupcake Worms can have cupcakes too as long as it’s not mine!  Oops, now that I look at him here, I meant to glue some googley eyes on him.  Just imagine him that way, okay?

This cute little worm was part of last weeks release at Squigglefly.  It was drawn by Jackie Mathews.  There are a ton of cute images by Jackie in the release last Saturday.  I have one more that will be up next!!!

Now I’m off to get to work on that one.  It’s soooo cute!

Christine

Squigglefly Challenge

I cannot believe that I’ve forgotten again!  What you ask?  Well my Squigglefly challenge card!!!  I’m going to add that to my Window’s Calendar right now.10-05-24 Our challenge this week is to make a get well card.  We all need those every once in a while, right?  I used the beautiful Victorian Lamp image and the sentiment says “May each day bring you renewed strength and brighter times” and is computer generated.  I thought that was appropriate for the lamp.

The colors are a little brighter irl but hey, what can a girl do?

Check back later.  I have a lot of things in the works today and I want to tell you all about our day of stamping yesterday!

Blessings,

Christine

One a Day in May at Squigglefly

squigglefly2We’ve got some great things going on at Squigglefly.  We’ll have a release for you this weekend including some images from a new artist.  I would love to show off some of the new images but since my sister kidnapped me and took me to Utah, I haven’t been able to do any creating which is soooooo hard!!!  I might have to steal some of her supplies Monday and make a really cute card with the images that Holly sent to me!  Be sure to check the Squigglefly store on Saturday!!!  I can’t wait to see the rest of the images!!!

Edit to add:  I just went to Squigglefly and the new images are already up and they are adorable!!!  You won’t want to miss this new artist!!!

If that isn’t enough for you … oneadaypromo we have One a Day in May back again this year!  If you sign up before May first and pay just $30, you will receive an a brand spanking new image every day in May!!!  You can get more details on the Squigglefly blog

Now I have a special request.  My nephew, Doug, was in a very serious accident yesterday and is in very serious condition in the ICU in Boise.  He underwent 11 hours of surgery today (still in surgery) and will have to have more surgery as soon as he is stable enough, probably tomorrow.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  We are all very worried and concerned.

It’s been nice chatting with you.  I miss being here and at all of your blogs but things should be back to near normal in about a week!

Blessings,

Christine

Friendship Blossoms

When Holly sent me this new image from Squigglefly, I was so excited to be able to play with it!!!  These beautiful flowers were drawn by the amazingly talented, Nina Bracket.  friendship blossoms I think this is my favorite ever image from Squigglefly.   I so enjoyed playing with it!!!

The set is very versatile.  It is a set that comes with a butterfly, a stemmed flower, a flower like these but with leaves attached and of course this single flower and single leaves.  I printed the flower in three sizes and then the leaves in several sizes.  I attached the flowers and leaves in three layers.  I think next time I use this I’ll make a single flower and then layer the petals of the flower.

Hopefully, you will be able to get this image on Saturday.  They are having problems with the Squigglefly computer and are waiting for a new one to arrive.

I have a couple of more images to play with!  One is beautiful, but simple so I will be able to finish tonight, so check back later!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Aunt Clara Fairy

09-10-07 It’s Wednesday so that means it’s Flutter By Wednesday! The challenge is an open one this week. That’s easy but you still have to use a butterfly or fairy on your project.

Don’t you like this cute image from the Digi Shack. I have a friend that belongs to the red hat club and I had to paint her purple and red. You can’t see very well in the photo, but her hair is even purple!!! She kind of reminds me of Aunt Clara from Bewitched.

I used Core’inations white wash cardstock and them embossed and sanded the papers. I water colored Clara and she is matted with the reverse side of the cardstock. I added lavender ribbon and jewels.

If you would like to play along with the Flutter By Wednesday challenge, you can go check out all of the other lovely DT blogs by clicking on their links on the right sidebar and then going to Danni’s Dreams to link up your card.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday and the ABC challenge is embossing.

Blessings,

Christine

Triple Decker

What’s the best thing on a hot. summer, holiday weekend? A triple decker ice cream cone, that’s what!!!

triple deckerI really love this image from Squigglefly. She is so adorable with an ice cream cone almost as big as her!!!

I painted her with watercolors and used DP from a Debbie Mumm stack. The flowers are from Fancy Pants (I got one for my giveaway), the buttons are S.E.I. and the ribbon is from Joanns. I used the Martha Stewart edge punch.

I used the SP Color challenge and the sketch from Lili of the Valley, Tuesday Taggers is buttons and bows and Polka Doodles is dots and stripes. It’s hard to see in the photo but the paper under her toes is a small dotted design.

That’s it for now. Off to do some more creating!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Retirement Cabin

retirement cabinMy Mother needs a retirement card for an old friend that is retiring from a lifelong career as a veterinarian.  When I saw this Squigglefly image I new that it would be great for his card.  Actually, I really want to go to where ever this cabin is.  It’s a beautiful scene!

Of course, I water colored it, added the computer generated sentiment and some dew drops and, it’s a card.  It wasn’t as easy as I make it sound.  It takes quite a lot of time to water color one of these scenes, but I love doing it.

When I was younger, I took a couple of water color classes and gave some paintings away and kept a couple but once the classes were over, I would try to paint but they just didn’t come out very good.  I’ve decided now that my whole problem is that I just can’t draw!  I think I’m doing a pretty good job with the water coloring part but if I had to draw this scene and then paint it, it would look like a storm passed through with trees leaning every which way and the cabin falling down!

In the last few months, I have purchased a number of stamps (digital and rubber) that will work very well with water coloring.  I haven’t gotten a chance to use some of them yet.  I’m going to get the DT cards ready for this week and then I can color some of the stamps I haven’t had a chance to use yet.  Once my niece gets married (Aug 8). I’ll have so much more time on my hands.  Actually, I don’t think I have much else to do for the wedding until a few days before.  I need to make some big bows, but that’s it.  I’m sure other things will come up though so I’ll be ready to help out whenever I can.

Well, that’s enough of my rambling.  I’m going to go make my Chirper card.  I have to wait until daytime to make my Bee Crafty Card because I will need to take some photos while I’m making it (hint-hint).

Blessings,

Christine

Sally’s Ice Cream Cone

dick, jane, sally

Do you remember the Dick and Jane books from back in the day?

 Sally's Ice Cream

This little girl reminds me of Sally, the little sister.  She’s actually a digi stamp from Squigglefly.  Have I said I’m in love with digi stamps!!!

I colored her with prizmas and gamsol.  I don’t know who the DP is by; I picked it up from the bins at Joanns.  I loved this paper when I picked it up but hadn’t figured out something to make with it yet.  When I saw this little girl on the Squigglefly website I knew that she would go great with this paper.  It also reminds me of Dick and Jane.  The buttons are Basic Grey.

The sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches and the challenge at Lili of the Valley is summer fun.

That’s about it for tonight.  I’ve got to get all my card making fun done tomorrow and maybe Monday because I will be getting prepared for the Wedding Invitation Assembly Party on Saturday.  I’ll be using my Cricut to cut out millions (600 but it feels like millions) of little flowers and spraying them with yellow glitter mist.  I’d like to get them all assembled in time for the partay on Saturday so we don’t have as much to do then.  The cardstock was delivered yesterday, my sister ordered the envelopes today, I need to go by and get some half pearls before Saturday, and most importantly, my niece and her fiancé need to approve of my design.  I want to get that done ASAP because I can’t start any of the other stuff till I get the A-Okay!

Well, I’m on my late night rambling thing again so I better just go to bed.  Nitey nite!

Blessings,

Christine

Raining Flowers

I made this card for the Stamp Something challenge which is flowers and showers and the Cuttlebug Challenge Fab Friday sketch.

The image is a Squigglefly digi stamp and I used watercolor paints (not pencils) again. I used the same colors and same paper as the card I did last night. The sentiment is a rub on from the same set. I put Glossy Accents on the puddle and raindrops. I embossed the green paper with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

I cut out the flower with the Cricut Walk in My Garden cartridge using the same papers as the card. I'll probably make a similar flower to put on my card from last night! I didn't like the flower I put on that one. That's about it!!!

Blessings,

Cat Nap

The Basic Grey Challenge this week is paper piecing. I cut the shower curtain out of Basic Grey Two Scoops. As a matter of fact, all the paper is from Basic Grey Two Scoops.

The image is a digi stamp from Squigglefly. I'm loving digi stamps lately. First of all, they're cheap and you can resize them to fit your needs. I spent some time today printing out digi stamps and stamping images with regular stamps so I have lots of images to work with.

I ordered some new Prisma water color pencils on ebay and they came on Monday. They are sooo much nicer than my old ones. They have a lot more color saturation that I'm still getting used to. Hence, the bright yellow towel and rug!

Don't forget about my candy with a challenge. Click on the picture of the Martha Stewart book at the top of my blog and it will take you to the correct post. You have until Saturday to enter so hurry!!!

Some Bunny Hearts

Over at Truly Scrumptious the challenge this week is Flower Power with a sketch. The ABC Challenge is to use hearts, and Stamp Something's challenge is to make an Easter card. This card fits all three!!! I'm getting some Easter cards made for my family and neighbors.

My inspiration for this card was one of my T-shirts. Do you know the company that makes T-shirts and stuff that is called Life is Good? They mostly sell them at sporting goods stores but we have a Life is Good store in our mall. (Yes, we only have one mall.) I have a pink T-shirt that has a small dark pink heart on the front with the words "Life is Good" under the heart. I think this is my favorite T-shirt. It has a lot of meaning for me. I would have taken a pict of it, but I have had it for a number of years and it's in pretty bad shape. Any way, I painted the flower pots like that T-shirt. Once again, I watercolored the image.

This is another digi stamp from Squigglefly. Isn't it cute! I love these downloads.
Blessings,
