Simple Woman’s Daybook

I’m going to try to start being a better blogger.  As you have most definitely noticed, I haven’t been blogging except for design team projects for several weeks now.  Starting with the Simple Woman’s Daybook, I’m going to be posting each Monday.  Simple Woman’s Daybook is supposed to be posted on Tuesdays but I will post on Tuesday but since I post for Paper Maniac on Tuesdays, I’ll post on Monday.  So, for the first time in forever:

for today MARCH 28, 2011.

Outside my window...It’s a beautiful spring day!  It’ll probably rain later, things are clouding up a bit now.
I am thankful for...my family.  I went to my uncle’s 80th birthday party on Saturday and saw my cousins that I haven’t seen since I was a child.  Such a wonderful time.  This weekend, I will meet some long lost cousins.  Seriously, you may have remembered me talking about a cousin I met purely by accident.  Well this weekend, I will be meeting her sisters.  Yay!!!
From the kitchen...same as usual.  I don’t cook!
I am wearing...my pjs!  Even though it’s past 11:00, I’m a night owl, remember.
I am creating...a tutorial for tomorrow’s Paper Maniac post.
I am going...no where.  I love staying home!!!
I am reading...Light a Penny Candle by Maeve Binchy.
I am hoping...and praying for those in Japan.
I am hearing...the Young and the Restless!
Around the house...so much to do that I don’t know where to start.
One of my favorite things...motivation.  After not feeling well for the last few weeks, I’m finally feeling better and well rested.  I’m so motivated to get things done around the house.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  I’m so excited to get started on all the projects around the house.

Outside my window...snow and melting snow.  I love living in Boise where the snow doesn’t stick around very long!
I am thinking...about the things I am planning for our craft day on Saturday.
I am thankful for...my family.
From the kitchen...clean, clean, clean and then maybe some rice Krispy treats!
I am wearing...navy Yellowstone sweat shirt and gray sweat pants.
I am creating...haven’t planned it yet but probably a couple of M5D cards.
I am going...to fix my outside faucet.
I am reading...the same two books.  I haven’t been reading much lately. :-(
I am hoping...that the weather will be good so that my sister can come up for Thanksgiving.
I am hearing...the Young and the Restless!
Around the house...I’m going to try to do my very best everyday and then start every new day fresh! (see the photo I’m sharing)
One of my favorite things...pumpkin pie.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  Thanksgiving Dinner!

Outside my window...crisp sunny day. 
I am thinking...not much of anything really.
I am thankful for...my warm home.
From the kitchen...nothing today.
I am wearing...my favorite lounge around the house sweater and dress.
I am creating...finishing up some cards.
I am going...no where, hopefully.
I am reading...the same two books.  I haven’t been reading much lately. :-(
I am hoping...to continue with my quest for peace in my life all month long.
I am hearing...the Young and the Restless!
Around the house...I’m going to continue working around the house for at least an hour a day.
One of my favorite things...my sweet puppy.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  work on the house of course and find my creative muse!.

FOR TODAY October 5, 2010

Outside my window...beautiful, sunny fall day.  I can finally say it’s a fall day!!!  Yay!!!
I am thinking...not much.
I am thankful for...my ability to visit my sister to help out when I can.
From the kitchen...don’t know.  I’m on a kind of vacation.
I am wearing...still in my pjs.  Hey, I didn’t get to sleep until 3:00 am.
I am creating...a new card from M5D and then I’m going to color some images I brought with me!  Plus, I’m going to start an afghan that I’m making for my nephew.
I am going...to find a fun activity for me today.  Maybe the bird refuge, maybe a drive in the mountains to see more fall leaves.  We’ll see!!!
I am reading...the same two books.  I haven’t been reading much lately. :-(
I am hoping...for my sisters and niece to have a good vacation.
I am hearing...my favorite show in Utah—Studio 5.
Around the house...it’s not my house, so not much.  I do need to do the dishes though.
One of my favorite things...cool and crisp fall days.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  some more vacation type things.  As many times as I’ve been to Utah, there are still a lot of things I haven’t seen.

Outside my window...beautiful, sunny day.  It’s going to be a little warm (low 90s for the end of September).
I am thinking...how blessed I am.
I am thankful for...for everyone that helped at and came to my garage sale on Saturday.
From the kitchen...probably a frozen dinner, as usual.
I am wearing...gray shorts and a Nebraska t-shirt.
I am creating...projects for McMahon Five release on Oct 1.
I am going...to take garage sale stuff to the thrift store.
I am reading...the same two books.  I haven’t been reading much lately. :-(
I am hoping...to get a lot done today.
I am hearing...the news.
Around the house...I’ll mostly be creating today.
One of my favorite things...cool fall days of which I’ll be seeing when I go to Utah this week.

Outside my window...sunny and beautiful!
I am thinking...about everything I’ll be doing today.
I am thankful for...my artistic talent.
From the kitchen...no cooking today.
I am wearing...my painting clothes—gray paints and t-shirt.
I am creating...my “V” page for the ABC book.
I am going...to finish sanding the dresser and do some yard work.
I am reading...same two books.  I haven’t been doing much reading lately.
I am hoping...to get the dresser sanded today.
I am hearing...sounds of plumbers digging up the neighbors yard.
Around the house...just working on painting projects.
One of my favorite things...my sister’s help.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  sanding, painting dresser; painting studio wall and then sand and paint other dresser.
Here is a picture for thought I am sharing...My dresser before!  I took the handles of before taking the photo.  It also had a decorative piece on the top that I already taken off and sanded.  Yesterday I got the top two drawers sanded and hope to get the rest sanded today.  Now I’m of to work on it again!!!

I am thinking... how happy I am to be home.

Me (with my dog Annabelle), Alice and Alicia at that damn dam several years ago. Why do I call it that damn dam, you ask?

Because my now ex-boyfriend got my truck stuck. He thought it was a dry reservoir until he crossed the little creek. He walked to get help while we sat in the hot sun for a couple of hours. The guy who helped said that if you see green weeds growing, there is water underground. And in case you want to know, I didn’t break up with him for this!

I am thinking... the things I need to get done for my nieces wedding.

I am thankful for... my life.

From the kitchen... I’ll probably be eating out today.

I am wearing... my khaki colored dress.

I am creating... the Thank You banner for my nieces wedding.

I am going... grocery shopping.

I am reading... Nutty as a Fruitcake by Mary Dahiem (yes, it’s a Christmas book) and Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchey.

I am hoping... that my nieces wedding goes off without a hitch.

I am hearing... the Young and the Restless.

Around the house... I’ve got some cleaning to do before guests arrive for the wedding.

One of my favorite things... my doggy laying next to me while I’m blogging, as she is doing right now.

Outside my window... I’m preparing this Sunday because I will be leaving for Utah in the morning. What will be outside my window tomorrow? The wide open road!

I am thinking... I hope that my doctor’s appointment goes well.

I am thankful for... That all of my doctor’s appointments/test have gone well to this point.

From the learning rooms... This isn’t going to apply today.

From the kitchen... I’ll probably be bringing Cafe Rio to my friends house for dinner.

I am wearing... I don’t know yet. Probably jeans and a tee-shirt.

I am creating... sadly, nothing today.

I am going... to Utah.

I am reading... nothing today.

I am hoping... see “I am thinking.”

I am hearing... hopefully, I’ll be hearing a a book on tape. That is if I can get to the library on Sunday.

Around the house car... my puppy sitting next to me.

One of my favorite things... springtime.

A few plans for the rest of the week: blood test, shopping, dinner w/friends, doc appt, dog sit.

Outside my window... It’s a beautiful sunny day.  The climbing rose on my trellis has grown over a foot since winter.  I planted it 3 years ago and it has already covered most of it’s share of the trellis.  The other two roses are not growing quite as fast.

I am thinking off... how I need to get off this computer and go to work on some cards I need to create.

I am thankful for... my internet and fellow transplant friend who I had lost touch with.  We found each other again a few days ago and she sent me a long email today!!!

From the learning rooms... I am really wanting to learn to expand my art to collages and altered art.  I am going to make an ATC today with a couple of images I received for free.  Check back later and see where I got them (maybe you can get 1 or 2 also) and what I came up with.

From the kitchen... I have no idea.  It’s way to early to think of that.  But I have some left over chocolate cake!

I am wearing... A sleeveless cotton knit dress.  I love to wear them when the weather is warm.  They are so much more comfortable than shorts.

I am creating... a card for Flutterby Wednesday and then an ATC.

I am going... to get off this computer and create!

I am reading... Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchey -- one of my favorite authors.

I am hoping... for good results from my doc appt next week!

I am hearing... Oprah.  She has some very talented people on her show today.

Around the house... are my favorite fur babies, Chloe and Tuxie.

One of my favorite things... my bleeding heart.  No my heart isn’t bleeding.  It’s a plant!

A few plans for the rest of the week: get my giveaways mailed out and gardening!

Here is a picture that I am sharing... I have two today:

My climbing rose.  This is the opposite side from what I see from my window.  It will be full of blooms in a few weeks.  Then I’ll really have a great view outside my window.

 

 

 

 

And this is my beautiful bleeding heart.  Sad to say, but these blossoms will be gone soon.  They are beautiful.
