Butterflies and Blossoms with Flourishes

03-15 flowers and butterflies

Hi all!  It’s my turn again on the Paper Maniac Inspirations blog.

I love Flourishes floral stamps.  This is one that came out a couple of releases ago and I’ve been waiting for some springy mojo to make a project with it.  This set is Butterflies and Blossoms and comes with these beautiful clematis flowers as well as a smaller bouquet, some butterflies and some sentiments.  I used some beautiful Memory Box paper for the background.

I’m still feeling under the weather.  I don’t remember if I mentioned it but I banged my knee pretty bad as I got back on ship the last day of the cruise.  It’s still quite sore and purple from the knee down.  Plus, I caught a chest cold while I was gone so I’m just taking it easy.  I haven’t even unpacked yet but I’m pretty sure I’ll rectify that one tomorrow.  Yesterday, I spent most of the day sleeping and today I had to take a couple of naps but tomorrow, I’m sure I’ll be feeling much better.  I guess I really had to pay for that vacation, huh?  But it was soooo much fun and I met some beautiful Brave Girls from all over the country.  I’ll try to get some photos together soon and do a post about the cruise.

Blessings,

Christine

Mom’s Sweet Peas

My mother takes the majority of the cards that I make and gives them to her friends. So, when I thought about making my mom a Mothers’ Day card, it was so difficult to decide what to make. I wanted a to use a floral or gardening image so I chose these beautiful sweet peas by Flourishes.

moms sweet peas

I had a lovely time painting them. That’s why I bought this set probably about a year ago. They are so great for water coloring. There is another smaller bunch of sweet peas in this set. I used those with Versa Mark ink to create the pink blush Papertrey Ink background paper. However, it doesn’t really show up in the photo. I love how this turned out. I sure hope my mom does as well.

I’m scheduling this post for after we will be having dinner tomorrow so that my mom doesn’t sneak a peek before I give it to here.

I hope you all had a great Mothers’ Day!!!

Blessings,

Christine

2nd Post for Today.

Please scroll down to see a brand new Squigglefly image!!!

Okay, I’m not quite that old but I do remember this song from when I was young.  lemon tree close up This fun stamp from Flourishes reminded me of that song.  When the announced their challenge for this week, I new I was going to use this stamp.  Their challenge this week is “Ya’ bought it so use it”!!!  I got this stamp for the Copic Club at Paper Maniac a few months ago but never got around to doing the lesson.  I colored it all by myself without benefit of the lesson.  I really need to go back and do the lesson.  lemon tree close up (2) But I think I did okay!  The sentiment also comes in the set from Flourishes.

On Monday I will have the new Squigglefly challenge and a new Fantabulous Cricut.  I have a new Design Studio trick for you tomorrow so check back!!!

Now, off to do some more creating!

Blessings,

Christine

Blooming Buttons

2nd Post for the Day!  Please scroll down to see more!!!

Can anyone tell that I had a weekend of creating?  That’s what I call a good weekend!

blooming buttonsMy new obsessions seems to be buttons!  Especially since I got Papertrey Ink’s Blooming Button Bits stamp set!  I love it!!!

I’m going to keep it short because I promised myself that I would go to sleep earlier tonight.  I’ve been staying awake until about 5:00 am and sleeping until 2:00 pm.  That just doesn’t work for me.  So I’m just going to say nighty night!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Swinging Willow

Did you know that the Flourishes challenge is celebrating an anniversary?  Well they are and they have revisited some challenges to celebrate!

swinging willowSix challenges in all and for some reason, I decided to go for all six!!!  I have another card ready to post and then only one more to make!  Yay!!!  Of course, I saved the most challenging one for last.  I’m to use a frame around my image!  I’ll probably do something with my Cricut.  I’ll work on that one tomorrow and then I’ll have all six done.  Phew!  Just in the nick of time since they’re all due tomorrow night!

I’ll be back in a bit with another card!

Blessings,

Christine

Joy to the World

I have another simple card that I may be able to duplicate several times for bulk Christmas cards.  I’m kind of trying to decide what I’m going to make.  Maybe I’ll make so many that will be easy to duplicate that I’ll have all my cards done!!!

100_4399I stamped the Hero Arts image/sentiment with Versa Mark ink and embossed with Zing red embossing powder and then cut it out with nesties.  All the paper (except the white) is from the S.E.I. Winter Song stack.  This paper is one of my favorite S.E.I. papers.  I was trying to not spend much money when I was there last week but ended up picking this up at the last minute.  I just couldn’t go home without it!!!

100_4400

Anyway, back to my card.  I used the MS doily lace punch and added rubies to it.  I also added a few rubies to the stamped image and here and there on the DP.  I tied a bow around it all and bada-bing – all done!!!

It turned out to be a fun yet elegant card, I think!

The challenge at Flourishes is border punches, Tuesday Taggers is bursts of color, La-La Land Crafts is ribbon, and Daring Cardmakers is to use a punch.

That’s it for now.  I’ll probably be back in a bit with something new.  Who know?

Blessings,

Christine

Thank You a Dot

10 Minute Thank You

Flourishes is having an Easy Breezy challenge to make a card in 10 minutes.  They like it when you can use Flourishes stamps on their challenges but I don’t have any that could be done easy breezy.

The DP is S.E.I.  I always hit their factory store when I’m in Logan, UT and found some great stuff on the last trip!

That’s it for tonight.

Blessings,

Christine

Sweet Peas

Sweet peas are another of my favorite flowers, along with roses, peonies, pansies, the list goes on and on!

Sweet PeasI’ve had this stamp for a bit and was a little afraid of it but I inked it up today and painted it with my watercolors. The stamp is the Flourishes Sweet Pea set and I used it for their challenge of frame it. I used the sketch from Card Patterns. The DP is the DCWV Luxury stack.

My aunt from Missouri has been visiting in Idaho this past week. She brought a long her son and his family. He’s 38 years old and a Grandpa. My aunt said she doesn’t mind being a Great-Grandma but she doesn’t like that her son is a Grandpa.

Anyway, I had so much fun with them. They spent the day out sightseeing and then came back to my sister’s house for a BBQ. I don’t get to see them very often and it’s so great to have a visit. I forgot to bring my camera so I don’t have any photos. :- ( I just wanted to share because it was such a wonderful evening.

Blessings,

Christine
