I told you…

…that I wasn’t going to neglect my poor blog so much.  Wow, three posts in a week!  Hopefully, I’ll keep this up.

Yesterday I just decided to stamp, a real rubber stamp, just for the sake of stamping and coloring!!!

window box copyThis is the result!  This is an Elizabeth Bell for SCACD stamp.  I fell in love and HAD to have it and am just now getting around to inking her up.  I really love this image.

This will probably be it for the weekend.  I have another project to post but I don’t know if I’ll get time to take a photo and post it until Sunday or Monday.  Sis from Utah is coming for a visit this weekend and tomorrow I have my art day with my mom.

For several months now we get together twice a week to work on some online courses that we have been taking from Tamara LaPorte.  She is a very talented mixed media artist and the owner of the Willowing website and we are just loving the courses!  I’ll be sharing some of the art I’ve been creating later.

I’ve also been taking some other art/mixed media courses.  Keeping very busy!!!

I hope you have a great weekend!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Uma Fiddler!

No, Uma not a fiddler but I couldn’t resist the pun. This sweet girl’s name is Uma and she’s playing a fiddle/violin! I knew my mom would love this image when I saw it and just had to color her up.

My mom plays the fiddle and also love’s Jess’ girls. Yes, she took that card with her when she was over yesterday. I’m sure it will go to one of her fiddling friends. Or maybe it will be one of them that she holds on to for herself!

I used some pretty Prima flowers from the McMahon Five Designs store. The dp is Basic Grey and the flower ribbon is American Crafts.

Sweet Daisy

Well, I seem to have found my muse again!  I’m here with another card.  I’ve scheduled this post for Monday evening but I made this card on Sunday.  That means I’ve made three cards in less than 24 hours.

sweet daisyI won this stamp from a contest that Elizabeth Bell did on Facebook.  I was so excited to get it that I inked it up the day it came in the mail.  Isn’t she cute!!!

I have several images that I have colored but just didn’t have the inspiration to put the card together.  I’m going to be working on those this afternoon.  Who knows what else!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Spider Mouse

spidermouse 2This is the other card I made for my sister’s Sunday school class.  I use this cute Whiff of Joy digi image quite often for her because it seems that a lot of four year old boys love Spiderman!!!

Very simple card here—colored with Copics and used cardstock and string from my stash.  I added a red button (PTI) and it’s simple as that!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and that you are ready to start a brand new week!  I know I did and am!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Cupcake Fairy

Hi all!  I hope you’re enjoying your weekend.  I needed to make a couple of cards for my sister’s Sunday school class of three year olds turning four.  What a fun age, huh?

cupcake fairyI’ll start with the little girl card and post the boy card tomorrow. My sister said she is a girlie girl that loves pink and purple.  There’s only a little purple in their but a lot of pink.  Love this image by Mo Manning and the DP is a rak.  I tied a bow with some ribbon from my stash and added some buttons (PTI).  I also added a bit of sparkle by coloring parts of the image with my Spica pen.  Simple, but I think it’s quite cute!!!

Be back tomorrow with the little boy card!

Blessings,

Christine

Give Thanks

I’m about to scream!  I’m having so many Internet issues tonight that I’m not sure this will even post and I can’t give you links but here goes!

10-13 give thanksI’ve used to new images from McMahon Vintage releasing today!  The frame with the oak leaves acorns is one image and the scripture is another.  I thought that they worked so well together that I combined them.

I also have a photo of the cutie-patootie Landon to share with you.

101_1245My niece (Landon’s mom) was teaching my gr-niece to play the fiddle the other day and Landon was enjoying listening to his mother play.  It was so precious!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Oops, I’m Late

So sorry I’m late. I woke up with a migraine again this morning so took some drugs and went back to sleep. Now my mind is kind of off in all directions and I’m having trouble staying on task! *giggle*

I fell in love with todays image the minute I saw it.  It reminds me of the MANY summers spent at my grandpa’s farm.  Unfortunately, I never carved pumpkins with him.  He lived in another town and I was never there at Halloween but I remember so many times like this in the summer.  It was always fun to spend time with my grandpa.  I love him so much and still, after all these years, miss him so much!

Now, on to the new images for this week!

Fanny Flapper

It’s another release Thursday at McMahon Five Designs.  It’s a light week but with some gorgeous images.

I chose Fanny Flapper to work with this week.  I love images from the Roaring 20s!

I’m also loving the Studio 313 release this week.  You could use the images and sentiments to make some quick and easy cards!

Hope

I have two cards to share with you from this weeks release.

First of all, we have the free Breast Cancer Awareness image.  I really liked this one and had to create with it.  There is actually a heart on the digi stamp that is underneath the butterfly that I added.  The paper has butterflies on it so I put the butterfly on there and then I covered all the butterflies with the design of the card.  Oh well!!!

All you have to do to receive this Awareness image is promise that you do your self exam each month.  It’s important.

Second, I just thought this Vertie was so cute that I had to make something with her.  I don’t often do cute.  This card is so much better in real life.  Vertie is green—all the colors seem brighter for some reason.  Tried to fix it in PSE but it just made it worse.

Now on to this weeks release!!!

Spider Mouse

Quite a while ago, I downloaded this free digi from Whiff of Joy quite awhile ago knowing that I would need one for my sisters 3 year old Sunday School class.  All the boys LOVE super heroes.

spidermouseDon’t you just love him!!!  He’s quite the guy.  I colored another one and I will be making up another card because she has two little boy birthdays in a row!

I’m up very early for me today.  I actually woke up at about 7:30 and  got up by 8:00.  Since I’m a late sleeper and don’t get much morning light, I took my camera outside and took some pictures of my garden.  I’ll post those later today.  Since the weather is going to be nice and cool, I plan to get some more gardening done in the evenings when I have shade.  Plus, I still have that sprinkler hole to fix.  Sis is coming over tomorrow for that.  And I have some painting to do for a shelving system in my studio.  Can’t wait!!!

My sis Rose and my mom will be coming over today to finish up our “Good Things Couture Art” (my version of Christy Tomlinson’s “She Art”).  I’ll try to remember to take pictures before they leave.

That’s my plans for today.  I’ve decided that I need to start managing my pain better so I’ve already taken something and hope to get through my days relatively pain free.

What are you doing today?  I hope you have wonderful plans.  For my friends that are in the middle of the heat wave, stay inside in the air conditioning.  If you don’t have air conditioning, go hang out at the mall!!!  Or find some water and jump in!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Artsy Rose

4-12 artsy roseHi all!  It’s my day again for the Paper Maniac Inspiration blog!

I used some of my fave stamps and papers for my card today.  The stamps are by Unity from the June 2010 Store Kit (on sale this month).  The beautiful papers are GCD Artsy Urban

I applied Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick, Barn Door and Aged Mahogany for the rose and Peeled Paint and Forest Moss for the  leaves and shading) directly to the rose stamp, cut it out with my Nestabillities and then applied more DI to the edges of the die cut.

Speaking of sale, all the Unity stamps are on sale this month!!!

I used the sketch from  Moving Along with the Times.

See you next week!

Blessings,

Christine
