A Patriotic Birthday

After I made this card, I thought that it would be perfect for my brother’s birthday card.  He was born on July 6th so I like the idea of a Patriotic theme.  hey there cowboy It’s much like the other one but also different!  The sentiment is computer generated and I also put a computer generated birthday sentiment on the inside.  I think he’ll get a real kick out of it!  I hope so anyway!

I have some news that I can share with you on Thursday.  I’m just so excited about it!!!

Here’s to a great Wednesday!!!

Sew Thankful

2nd post of the day.  Please scroll down for my 1st post!

I’ve been letting the stamps inspire me lately.  Currently, I have stamps sorted by company in zip lock bags (I have a better storage solution but haven’t gotten started on it yet,).  Last night, I grabbed a bag at random and then decided which stamp I would use.  I grabbed a bag from Unity and . . .sew thankful decided on this cute little sewing machine.  I think if my sewing machine was this cute, I might sew a little more often!!!  sew thankful collage I decided to decorate the inside as well.  I loved this sentiment and wanted to make a special place for it!

I’m in the middle of working on another McMahon Five card using my next free digi image.  I’ll be back with that when it’s done!

Blessings,

Christine

It’s a Small, Small World

I think this is one of the cutest vintage images!  It's a Small World And it reminds me of a cute song!  What else could you want?

McMahon Five Designs is having a M5D Digital Challenge for their newsletter subscribers.  With each project you make using a M5D, they will send you one free digital image.  How great is that!!!  This is my second card.  I haven’t gotten around to posting my first.  Maybe tomorrow.

Yesterday was very tiring.  I really didn’t do much except sit around and talk.  My mother’s best friend’s youngest and eldest daughters came to join in the garage sale.  It had been a long time since I had seen them so it was a lot of fun!!!  Talk, talk, talk!!!  I think all of us got sunburned but my niece took the prize.  She was very red!

Thanks for stopping by!  I love it when you come to visit!!!

She Sprouted Wings

I made this card just for me, literally!!! A while back I was cruizin’ around the blogs and saw that Unity had teamed up with Melody Ross to make a Brave Girl stamp set.  I had to have it!!!  And thankfully they were having a sale at the time!  she sprouted wings So, with Brave Girl camp 18 days away, I decided to make a card for myself and right myself a letter about the things I want to achieve, the things that I want to work out, the things I want help with while I am at Brave Girl camp.  I’m so excited and honored to be going.  This will be such a great opportunity to meet some amazing women, especially Melody Ross!  What an amazing woman.

While I’m talking about Melody, take a minute to go to the Brave Girl website and sign up for her Daily Truth.  It’s a inspiration newsletter sent to your inbox every afternoon.  You won’t be disappointed.  She is an amazing woman.

I wanted to make the centerpiece of this card the lady with butterfly wings and the “She Sprouted Wings” sentiment.  She is what made me fall in love with this set!  I chose my favorite sentiments and used the ones that fit into the layout the best.  I’ve been holding on to the butterfly in the top left for just the right project and this one fit the bill.  The charm tied into the bow says believe—my mantra this year.  I really need to believe in myself more.  The other sentiments say “Now is the time” and “everything is going to work out just right.”

I’m going over to my stamping friend Lynne’s house because she and some other stamping friends are having a garage sale!!!  She said things are going really cheap so I can’t wait to see!!!  Then, I’m heading for to my niece, sisters and mom’s garage sale to help them out.

What do you have planned this weekend?  I hope it’s something fun!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Fairy Day

Yesterday was Fairy Day!  You know me and how much I love fairies so I couldn’t resist making a fairy card.  100_6787 I had intended on getting her finished for the actual Fairy Day but I spent some time working in the garden so that didn’t happen.

I have loved this little Tiptoe Fairy ever since I saw her on the Lili of the Valley blog.  It took me a year to go ahead and order but now I have her!!!  She is just way to cute!!!

It’s late so I’m going to keep it quick.  I’ve been working on changing my inner clock to be able to get up earlier.  I used to get up between noon and 1:00.  I didn’t mind that I went to bed really late and got up late but that won’t do while I’m at Brave Girl Camp.  I’ll miss out on half of the day!!!  Not to mention, I’d be missing breakfast.  If the photos on their website are any representation, I don’t want to miss out on any meals.  Yummy!  They even asked what our favorite treat/desert is.  I’m thinking that I’ll get some chocolate cake!!!  I’m so lucky to be going to Brave Girl Camp and soooo excited!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Music Box

When Holly sent these images to me, I knew exactly what I was going to do with them.  music box The ballerinas come in a set and the sentiment is separate but I think it goes perfectly with the music box theme.  I made a stair step card to put the little ballerinas on that I had fussy cut.  I put them on the card with wire. I also added wire to the ballerina with her leg in the air to keep her stable.

I probably won’t be making a card like this again.  It was very time consuming.  I really do like how it turned out though; maybe it would be faster the second time.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Christine

Tilda’s Rose

This is one of my favorite Tildas (I think they are all my favorites. *giggle*) and whenever I color it, it reminds me of my sister, Rose, so I decided to make a belated birthday card for her.  Tilda's Rose I think I may have gone a little crazy with the distressing.  It looks a little better in person.

She’s coming this weekend to bring things for what is ending up to be a huge garage sale.  She already knows what her gift is.  I picked up an original Sizzix at a thrift store for $5.00 and asked her if she wanted it for her birthday. I have ordered the accessories that she needs plus a few other goodies to be delivered to her house next week.

Holly sent me some great Squigglefly images and I’ve been playing with them today.  I have an exciting project planned for them.  I hope it turns out as good as it looks in my mind!  Of course, the new images will be available on Saturday.

I hope you had a great Tuesday!  See ya’ on Wednesday!!!

A Bicycle Ride

Have I ever told you that I love my bicycle!  As a matter of fact, for over 2 years, I rode my bike almost evefy where I went.  Of course back and forth to work (apx. 5 miles round trip), to the grocery store (I had two big saddlebag baskets installed on the back)—EVERYWHERE!  I had a car in the garage but I didn’t drive it.  In fact, a lot of my friends thought that I had gotten and DWI but NO!  I was always very careful about that!  Now I seldom drink alcohol.

Now, to the point of today’s card, when Moxi Fab World announced that the theme this week for the montly challenge was bicycles, I knew I had to create something!  bicycle journey When I first saw this stamp set from Artistic Outpost, I feel in LOVE with the bicycle and had to buy it!  I have used other images from the set but this is the first time using the bike!  love it!!!

Now, I need to get my bike out of the shed, fill the tires with air and go for a ride!!!

That’s it for now!  I’ll see ya’ tomorrow!

You Are my Sunshine

It’s my last Squigglefly challenge as DT.  Kinda’ sad but I’ll still be playing along when I can!  Since today is the first day of summer (an my brother’s birthday *giggle*), our challenge this week is to use some sunshiney yellow on your project!  10-06-21 As I was coloring these beautiful flowers, I realized they look just like my beautiful yellow roses!  They’ve been a little slow in getting started this year.  I think they suffered a little winter kill. 10-06-21 side view I colored to of the images and cut some of the petals out to raise them up.  I did a little bit of molding to get the paper to look more like petals.  This is one of my fave Squigglefly images!

Holly tells me that there will be one more release before the end of the month so this isn’t the end of my Squigglefly projects.

I have some other projects that I’ve started or are done so I won’t be leaving you all alone this week even though I will need to be working around the house.  My sister’s, neice, mom and I are having a joint garage sale this week so I have to get some things ready to go.  If any one lives in the Boise area, let me know so I can give you the address.  You never know, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!

See ya’ later, alligator!  After awhile crocodile!!!

Vintage Advertising

I love all the new Artists Proofs stamps out by Hero Arts.  The have that vintage feel that I love so much.  vintage advertising This is the stamp that I meant to by when I purchased two of the sewing stamps.  This is one big stamp that I cut apart each image.  I first watercolored it with some fairly bright colors.  I then cut each ad apart and did the cracked glass technique using UTEE on each piece and then attached them to a matted matte (if that makes since).  I love this technique so you’ll definitely be seeing this one again!

I’m off to create my last Squigglefly challenge card.  I don’t even know what image I’ll be using yet!  I’ll probably see you later today or maybe tomorrow!  Have a great Saturday!!!  I’ll be in the garden this evening!  Yay!!!

Cheeky Glamour

When I colored the last card, I wasn’t really happy with her hair so I tried another approach…cheeky glamour and I think I like it better!  Whata’ you guys think?  I colored her and the patriotic cowgirl one day this week while I was having the migraine.  Once I colored the first one, I stamped and colored this one again right away.  I kinda’ felt like a little kid with my coloring book!!!  I do love these Greeting Farm cheeky girls.  I’m going to have to get more, I’m sure.  They have a nurse now,  She is adorable!!!  Coloring and painting always takes my mind away from my headache.

That’s it for tonight!  Do you have any big fathers’ day plans?  Be sure to honor those wonderful fathers in your life!

Along with all the vintage sewing stamps, I also love the vintage garden images.  victorian gardner I masked the little girl to stamp the tree and then stamped some little birds in the sky. Shabby Tea

So, I was looking around my studio yesterday, looking at stamps, thumbing through magazines and looking around the blogs for inspiration.  Then I came across The Shabby Tea Room design team call and decided that that would be my next project. They had this photo for inspiration… …and here is my interpertation.  shabby tea both I made a set for to give to someone who might be feeling a little down or ill.   shabby tea both card Wouldn’t you love to receive this, well, if your kinda’ girly and like pink anyway.  shabby tea both canBut I’m really girly and love pink!  The tin is an empty International Coffee can with my favorite Red Rose tea!

Now, I probably should get out to the garden and do some work but really don’t feel like it.  I’ve got a couple of more hours before it’s shady so maybe I’ll get some time to play again!!!

I started my diet yesterday (except having to finish off the remaining ice cream).  I have ridded my house of anything sweet and chocolately.  I have to now get my sweet from fruit or yogurt.  My goal is to lose 15 pounds before Brave Girl Camp that starts on July 13.  It’s not that I want to be thinner for camp but it’s a goal.  I figure with the food that they will be serving at camp, I’ll be gaining a couple of those back.

I want to lose another 15 pounds before my doctor’s appointment in September.  Then I’ll be back down below the weight that I was before my transplant.  I’ll reevaluate my weight at that time.  I’m hoping that will be enough.  Then I can just eat healthy and keep the weight off!!!  Wish me luck!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I always appreciate my lovely friends here on the bloggo!  Love you all!

Party Girls

I’m about ready to SCREAM!  First of all, this card was without a doubt one of the hardest I have ever made, bar done.  I colored the image two and a half times and made the card twice.  I will spare you those details!

Then, while trying to post it, every time I hit backspace, Windows Live Writer would stop working.  AAAAAAAAAAAck!

I really do like this cute little Girl’s Trip by Jackie Matthews! Party Girls Isn’t it adorable! They are cutie patooties, aren’t they?  But I think there might be something to say about how all the passenger’s eyes are closed!!!  That gal must be one heck of a driver!!!

So now you’ve seen two of Jackie’s new images so what are you waiting for?  Go!  Now!  See the rest!!!

Who knows what I’ll be up to next!!!  I don’t even know but be back here in a day or two to see!

Short Week

Be sure to check out my giveaway by clicking the picture above.

Wow, this week has flown by.  You would think, since I don’t work that each week would be pretty much like another but this one got away from me.  I’ve been just kind of hanging out since I hurt my ribs.  I can’t believe how much that pain caused me to slow down.  But I woke up on Wednesday wondering where the heck all the pain went.  I took advantage it and did some stuff around the house and then welcomed it back but just for the evening.

But by the next morning, no more rib pain but one heck of a migraine.  My doctor has given me three types of pain med—small, medium and large.  I have a very mild one that I take for my everyday aches and pains.  The other two he just recently prescribed—one for mid-size migraines and another one for the whoppers.  Thankfully I haven’t taken any of the whoppers but I took one of the mid-size and it made me want to sit and stare at the TV all day long!!!

My truck wasn’t working right so I took it in to the tire store.  It wasn’t steering as it should.  Four new (to me) tires later and I’m one happy driver.  Tires for my truck run upwards of $100 dollars so I’m glad they had used ones.  That really cuts into my stamping budget!!!!

I have an image all colored and ready to be made into a card that I will get done first thing tomorrow.  It’s such a fun image and can be used for a lot of cards for the kiddos.

When the shade comes around to my yard, I’ll be in the garden.  I have a tomato, a pepper and an eggplant to plant, plus a few flowers!!!

See ya’ll tomorrow!!!

Blessings,

Christine
