I’ve got a few online classes lined up but just haven’t had much motivation to work on them.  I spent Sunday afternoon at my mother’s house and we worked on the first lesson of Tamara LaPorte’s life book class.  However, I haven’t done anything since!  Hoping to finish it up tomorrow or Friday and I’ll share it with you along with other things I’m working on.  I’m so excited to learn some new artsy techniques!!!

Now, here’s what we are releasing this week at McMahon Five Designs.

Charity Wings

Support-1Many of you know that I’m a big supporter of Charity Wings.  I even used to write the blog for them.

I recently joined a group that is part of Charity Wings called Club TLC.  It’s a new part of Charity Wings.  Each month the leaders give you charitable tasks to do and you gain points.  For example, since January is Library Month, they have made suggestions to donate books to your local library, read to a child, read to an elderly, etc., for points.  There will also be ways to earn points using your art and creativity.  In turn, you can trade your points for great gifts from sponsors.

tlclogoOther benefits of joining Club TLC are:

  • Free registration to the LIVE from CHA ($34 Value) event which comes with a minimum $50 value goody bag shipped to you and a chance to win 26 different prizes, valued at over $1300.
  • Exclusive Club T.L.C signed 5x7 print by Danita Art. Check out Danitas art at DanitaArt.com.
  • Membership kit including personalized membership card with attached wing charm and ledger for tracking your points.
  • 2 Free $5 raffle tickets ($10 value)  for the Quarterly Charitable Raffle for prizes worth at least $50.
  • Monthly on line chat in the Charity Wings Parlour with special guests and giveaways.
  • Member discounts to all Charity Wings events
  • Free digi downloads from industry designers
  • Facebook Community to share your good deeds and inspire others.

I’ve been part of Live from CHA for each time they have done it and it is so much fun.  It almost feels like you’re there.  And the Swag Bag is a huge bunch of artsy goodness.  I heard a rumor that this Winter CHA will be a progressive art journal project.  I can’t wait!!!

Elena has generously decided to let all Charter Members giveaway a membership for only 1 cent!  And I’ll even pick up the penny for you!!!

Just leave a comment on this post and I will pick a winner next Thursday!

Cozy and Warm

landons afghanI’ve been working for the last month crocheting a new blankie for my sweet Landon.  Since I was sick the week before Christmas, I didn’t get it finished until New Year’s Eve.  It’s very warm.  The yarn is a chenille baby yarn—it’s so soft.  (Poor Chloe thinks she is in trouble for some reason.)

landon loves ggmaLandon loves to cuddle under a blankie while he drinks is bottle.  And can you tell he loves his great grandma too?  He’s such a sweet little boy!!!

My sister from Utah surprised us with a visit for New Year’s Eve.  We had pizza and played board games with my great niece/nephews and then my sisters, niece, my mom and I had a fondue part to ring in the New Year!  It was such a fun day!

Blessings,

Christine

The First Day

So today marks the day that I start eating better. (I’m not going to say the word diet.)

my 2012_2-005This morning I weighed in and took a picture of myself.  I will be doing this each week and make a double page spread in my “My Twenty 12” book.

my 2012_2-006 blankedI don’t really want to share my weight on the blogo so I’ve marked that out.  I have decided to use Denise Austin’s website to plan my meals and to track my eating and my progress.  It’s only $12 a month and I know that I need the structure to keep on track.  I don’t eat regular meals and didn’t eat everything on my list for today but that gives me a bedtime snack.  I always have a bedtime snack anyway so that’s a good thing!

I hope your Tuesday is great.  I will be working on my Lifebook class that is being put on by Tamara LaPorte and several other artists.  I love her and can’t wait to dive in!

Blessings,

Christine

Renew

Before I even new about Ali Edwards’ “My One Little World” workshop, three years ago, I selected a word, “Believe.”  Then in 2011, I decided to keep the word “Believe.”  I still think “Believe” is my life word but this year my word is “Renew.”  I want to renew several areas of my life that need worked on and I’m going to document it in a digital album called “My Twenty-12” and I will be sharing it here on my blog.

I will be sharing more about my personal life than I have been because I think I need it for the accountability.  When I first started this blog three years ago, it was for personal reasons and through blogging, I stumbled upon all the craft blogs, especially the papercrafting blogs and started a new obsession hobby!  I’m still going to use this blog for all of my artsy/crafty projects but I’m also going to be sharing more of my personal times—good, bad and ugly—starting today!

my 2012-001I haven’t taken a photo for my front cover yet but this is how it starts.  I’m going to print the pages out periodically, add some embellies and put them in an album—hybrid scrapbooking.

my 2012-003On the inside cover, I’ve documented the purpose of this album along with my one little word.

my 2012-004My goals for January!  On the first of each month, I will set goals and then document how well I did at the beginning of the next month, including photos when applicable!

I will make goals in three areas of my life.  My healthy life, my art, hobbies and entertainment, and my home.  I also want to document this whole process along the way.

Each Monday, I will talk about the previous week and make plans for the next week.  Expect that on here tomorrow.

Thanks for coming by and being part of my journey!

Blessings,

Christine
