I found Michelle Perkett while I was blog hopping one day. I’m not sure where I first saw one of her beautiful fairies, but I was immediately smitten.
Can you see why? She gave us each this image to play with. What I didn’t remember is that she also gave us a challenge to use red, pink and gold.
Do you see any red or gold? Oh well! I have a short memory. I should have written it down!
If you came here from Sarah's blog, you’re on the right track. If not, you can start at Michelle’s blog.
I’ve purchased a number of Michelle’s fairies but haven’t had much time to play with them. When Michelle said she was having a blog hop, I definitely wanted to do it and show everyone else her beautiful images. You must go check them out. RUN, don’t walk to Michelle's Etsy shop and see what I mean. While you’re at it, check out her blog!!! She doesn’t only draw fairies, but mermaids, fairytale characters and other beautiful women!!!
Michelle asked us to write a love letter to someone we love. I kept thinking about who I would right my letter to and decided to write to my grandpa. He was the first love of my life.
Dear Grandpa;
I have loved you since I was born. Since my own father passed away when I was so young, you are the man of my first memories. I tell everyone who cares, and many who don’t, that you were the epitome of a grandpa. You loved your grandchildren so much and loved to tease them just as much.
Living on a farm gave you plenty of chances for stories and teasing. Like when you told me that the cow with a shortened tail had that short tail because she was wagging it in your face so you bit it off!!!
Do you remember when you attempted to teach me to drive? I was about 12 and you pulled the seat of the pickup as far forward as it would go and told me to let off the brake gently and move towards the bale of hay that you were sitting on. When I headed straight towards said bale, you leapt out of the way! That was the fastest I had ever seen you move!!!
I so loved the summers when I could spend weeks with you on the farm. Especially when you would let us ride to town on the milk run. You would give us a dime and we’d get a pop and a bag of penny candy! Those were the days! Especially the day you said to wait by the road and you drove by just waiving. I was so happy when you turned back!
I will always love red trucks with candy in the glove box. (I even have a red truck now.) And I will always love the smell of wintergreen and cigarette smoke. I know that it sounds icky, but it reminds me of you!!!
I miss you so much!!!
Now, go to Ileana’s blog for the next stop.
Blessings,
Christine
