Thanks for Flutterby Wednesday

It’s been such a great year at Flutterby Wednesday so I decided to make a thank you card for this weeks challenge. Danni has made it easy on us for the last two weeks of the year and left us with open challenges. Just be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your creation.

09-12-30

Isn’t that flower gorgeous! I learned about it on Dawn McVey’s blog. I punched several scalloped circles out of newspaper and then held them together with a brad. I crumpled each layer of paper into the middle and then fluffed them all up. In person, it looks a lot like a carnation. I inked up the edges and glued a MS butterfly to the center! This flower looks so lush and is pretty much free!!! I love that price!.

The DP is Making Memories and I added some pearls colored with my Copics. I used an MS border punch, added the ribbon and a Thanks sentiment (I don’t know who makes it).

If you'd like to play along, go check out all of the other lovely DT blogs by clicking on their links on the right sidebar and then go to Danni’s Dreams to link up your card. I hope you play along with our challenge!

Don’t forget that we will be at our new home next week!

Today is also a new challenge at Just Buggin’. The challenge this week is In the Shadows – use the shadow or blackout feature with your die cut. You can make anything you'd like as long as it fits with the current challenge. The creations by the design team are posted each day of the week so check every day for inspiration. My day is Tuesday so I’ll be posting my creation on Tuesday.

Inky Paisley

17 thinking of paisley

Our challenge this week at Just Buggin’ is Inky Fingers -- use ink to alter your die cuts. I’ve been wanting to use this cut since I got the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge a long time ago. It just really appeals to me.

I started with the DP from Cloud 9 Design because of its paisley design. Once again, I didn’t keep track of the sizes. I think the large square (also from Stretch Your Imagination) is 3 inches and the paisley-a little over three. The sentiment is at 2 inches and from Calligraphy Collection. I added some Dew Drops colored to match with a Bic marker.

My hint for today’s Just Buggin’ challenge: I love using ink on die cuts because it creates the illusion of dimension.

If you’d like to join in on the Just Buggin’ challenge, you have until tonight to have your project posted to the JB blog.

Blessings,

Christine

I MUST CREATE!!!

I’ve gone almost a week without creating something.  I just can’t take it a day longer.  I haven’t even had much of a chance for blog hopping.  I’ve missed all of you!!!

I went to Walmart yesterday and bought some yarn and a crochet hook and I’m going to make a bunch of dish rags and hot pads.  That way I’ll have something to do when I’m sitting upstairs joining the family in the evenings.

I need to move things around here in the basement in order to clear things so I can work on the crafty table.  Needless to say, my sister has not had much energy lately for crafting but now she wants to join in on my creative pursuits.

Tomorrow, we are going to go to the basement and Rose will direct me in sorting and moving things so that we can have room to create.  I brought with me, half of my craft room.  I included some things I wanted to work on and some things that I thought Rose would want to use on some projects that she is working on.

But for now, I have nothing to show you! :o(  Tomorrow, my Just Buggin’ post will be up and on Wednesday we have an extra surprise happening at our new Flutterby Wednesday home!  So be sure to check back this week.  By Thursday, I hope to have something to show you.

Speaking of Thursday, my sister and I are going to Logan on Thursday to pick my niece up for the holiday weekend.  We will be going to the Pepperidge Farm factory store (yum), Hobby Lobby (dbl yum-we don’t have an HL in Boise), the best of all, the S.E.I. factory store.  They have a workroom where they have a bunch of scraps (large and small) that you can use work on your own projects.  I’m making something that uses S.E.I. papers so I’ll be looking forward to working on that.  It’s for a fellow blogger so I won’t be able to post that one right away!

That’s it for now.  I hope everyone had a great Christmas (or the winter holiday you celebrate)!  We’ll be spending our New Years Eve creating!  That’s the best way I can think to spend a day of celebration!!!

I’m so happy to be back in the blogging world!

Christine

Sleepy Fairy

I’ve pre-scheduled this post so I sure hope it shows up!!!

Welcome to my Flutter By Wednesday post! This is our last week until we move to at the new home of FBW. We are going to have some fun there next week so be sure to come back! This weeks challenge is open so make anything you'ld like as long as you include a butterfly, fairy or angel.

09-12-23

This is one of my favorite fairy images! It’s by Charmed Crafts. She is so sweet. I wish I new what she’s dreaming about!

I watercolored her and added some Shimmerz to her wings. The DP is K&Co. and I used an MS border punch. I tied a big organza bow and added some Basic Grey buttons!

Since I’m typing this early I don’t have much to say. I’m in Utah by now and enjoying time with my sister and her family!!!

If you'd like to play along, go check out all of the other lovely DT blogs by clicking on their links on the right sidebar and then go to Danni’s Dreams to link up your card. I hope you find some time in your Holiday rush to play along with our challenge!

Just Buggin’ Santa’s Helper

The challenge this week at Just Buggin’ is Santa’s Helper. Make a Christmas gift for someone special using at least one Cricut die cut.

I chose to alter a chocolate box from last Christmas.

100_4833

Here’s what it looked like last year! The truffles were yummy!

16 winter wonderland

And here’s what it looks like ready to be filled with my dark chocolate fudge (recipe below).

I cut the base of the card with a cut from the Storybook cartridge. The original cut wasn’t in the right dimensions so I used Design Studio to change the proportions to 9.762 x 5.576 and smaller sizes in blue and Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP. That worked perfectly to fit on the top of the box. The sentiment and hat are cut with the Winter Woodland cartridge at 3 inches.

I added some lace and pink tiny pom pom fringe and some Basic Grey buttons.

If you’d like to play along with the Just Buggin’ challenge, you have until tonight to link your project up to the Just Buggin’ blog.

Okay, now for the recipe. If you like dark chocolate, you’ll love this one. If not, substitute semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips.

Dark Chocolate Fudge

3 cups Ghirardelli 60% cacao chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand type)
3 tbls butter
2 teas vanilla

Melt all ingredients together in double boiler or microwave. If using microwave, check often to be sure it doesn’t burn. Pour into a buttered 9x12 pan and cool for several hours. (I don’t have much patience for the cooling step.)

That’s it! You can add your favorite kind of nuts, candied cherries (or other dried fruit), crushed candy canes or anything else you like. My favorite is pecans and mini marshmallows!

*******************************

I haven't left for Utah yet. I was going to go on Sunday but the weather was a little iffy so I didn't go. I'll be going tomorrow morning so I probably won't be around the blog world until Wednesday evening. I've got the next four FBW projects done and the posts scheduled and the next three Just Buggin' projects done and scheduled. It feels good to have all those done so I won't have to worry about them while I'm in Utah. Like I said before, I'll be working on my niece's wedding scrapbook and a gift for a blogger friend while I'm in Utah. Talk to you Wednesday night!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Baby It’s Cold Outside Giveaway!!!

This post will stay on top until 12-17. Please scroll down for recent posts!

Okay, I didn’t get much response to my giveaway so I’m giving you a choice.

3941092453_65e041786a_t I have the same offer (buy one get one) for Papercrafts magazine. I already subscribe but they will extend the subscription and send one of you a subscription as well!!! Does that sweetin’ the pot at all? So leave me a comment on this post and I’ll draw on the the 18th! I will give the winner their choice of the Papercrafts or Pillsbury magazine. Once again, USA residents only. Sorry!

********************************

It was 12 below zero last night in Boise and the weather guy said "The wind chill factor is ONLY going to be 15 below AT MAX" tonight!!!

PM_7_Day_full

So I decided to have a “Baby It’s Cold Outside” giveaway!!! What’s better when it’s cold outside than some warm home cooking!!!

zine_box2

This is one of my favorite recipe magazines. I know, it’s kind of weird for a primarily card/craft blog to giveaway a recipe subscription but I got this email today for a twofer and thought how perfect for a giveaway when it’s sooooo cold outside!!!

I’m going to make this quick and pretty easy!

First of all, post magazine this picture on your blog (either in your sidebar or a separate post) and then leave me a comment.

I will do the prize drawing on the December 17th and so check back on the 18th to see if you won.

I’m sorry but this giveaway is for USA residents only because of subscription mailing rates but I will be doing a blogoversary giveaway in January so stay tuned!

Blessings,

Christine

Preparing

I haven’t had much to share with you lately because I’ve been preparing for my trip to Utah. I’m trying to get as many DT projects done as I can before I leave.  Plus, I’m trying to get some things done around the house as well.

I will have some things to share with you for the design teams I’m on but probably not much else until after I get to Utah.  It looks like I’ll be leaving on Sunday.  My sister and mother are going for the weekend and I don’t want to overwhelm Rose with too much company.  I plan to get to her home on the same day my mom and sis leave.

You have until midnight tonight to get in on my blog candy draw!!!

Blessings,

Christine

My Little Chickadee

Wow, I can’t believe there is only 2 more Wednesdays left in 2009. Wow! What a fast year and a great year! I’ve ‘met’ so many wonderful ladies this year around blogland. It’s been so much fun!!!

At Flutter By Wednesday, we have a lot in store for you in the new year! First of all, we’re moving. Danni is moving Flutter By Wednesday to its own home!!! The new FBW blog is up now so go check it out and become a follower so you won’t miss out on anything. For the first challenge on the new blog, we will be having a big party with festivities yet to be announced. We’re going to have some new guest designers as well so you won’t want to miss a thing!

Our challenge this week is a sketch from Mercy.

GetAttachmentShe host’s a sketch challenge each Tuesday on her blog. Be sure to check it out!!!

09-12-16This sweet little image is from Clear Art Stamps. I thought these birds looked like little chickadees (now say that like W.C. Fields wiggling your cigar between your fingers) so a attemped to paint them as such!

I colored the image with my watercolor paints and added some Shimmerz to her wings. The DP is DCWV Whimsy stack and I added some ribbon, a bow and some buttons! I’m addicted to the bows with buttons tied onto them!

If you'd like to play along, go check out all of the other lovely DT blogs by clicking on their links on the right sidebar and then go to Danni’s Dreams to link up your card. I hope you find some time in your Holiday rush to play along with our challenge!

Just Buggin’ Frosty Kisses

Our challenge this week at Just Buggin’ is to Happy Holidays.  Make a Christmas project using at least one Cricut die cut.

15 fosty kisses I decided to make a tag for a gift jar of Hershey’s Kisses.  However, I’ve eaten all the Kisses since I made the tag so I’ll have to get more for the gift!

I cut the tag with the George cartridge and the sentiment and snowman are cut with Winter Woodland cartridge.  This cartridge has so much fun stuff on it.  I’m pretty much finished with winter theme projects for this year but I can’t wait until next year to use some of the other features and cuts.

The cuts themselves are pretty self-explanatory so I’ll get into assembly.  The larger tag is cut in a wine colored cardstock as well as the shadows of the sentiment and snowman.  The DP tag is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses (in keeping with the Kisses theme – tee-hee).  I used a glue pen to glue the layers together.  Glue pens are very forgiving and a great tool for small die cuts.  When the glue is wet, you can move it around a bit to get it in the correct position and after it has dried, it is tacky and becomes repositionable.  I use glue pens a lot with Cricut die cuts.

I added a lot of Stickles (on the letters, hat band, scarf and buttons) and little black rhinestones for his eyes.  I then tied a big pink bow to top it all off.  I love these big bows.

My hint for today’s Just Buggin’ challenge:  Think big! I used oversized die cuts and ribbon for huge impact.

If you’d like to join in on the Just Buggin’ challenge, you have until tonight to have your project posted the the blog.

Christine

Miss Tilly’s Christmas

I’ve found some really fun Christmas digi images out in blogland this year and when I saw this one, I knew I had to have her.

Miss Tilli's Pearls Isn’t she sweet! Miss Tilly is from Digital Doodling and better yet she was free. Your find several freebie images on the blog.

I watercolored her in colors to match the Cosmic Cricket Jolly by Golly DP. I did a blue wash for the sky and put the whole card together using buttons, MS punch, ribbon, flat back pearls and a Studio G sentiment in blue ink. Such a sweet card, I think.

I’m off to work on another one. Who knows I might even be back tonight!

Blessings,

Christine

Challenges:
Simon Says -- Let it Snow
Stamptacular Sunday -- Christmas card with non-traditional colors

Yada, Yada Holidays

When I saw this image from The Character Cafe, I knew I had to make a card with it for a Seinfeld fan on my list.

Yada Holidays closeupI highlighted the Yada, Yada Holidays sentiment in pink because it kind of got lost between the horns.

Yada HolidaysThe sentiment is computer generated and says “Happy Festivus For the Rest of Us.”

I watercolored the sweet little kitty and added a jewel to her bow and to her color. All the DP is frrom K&Co., the punch is MS and the buttons are S.E,I.

I’ve got a couple more to do today so I’m off to my crafty table again!

Christine

Snow in Love

I have a few images printed that I wanted to go ahead and get into cards for specific people. This one is the first and I’ll have two more; maybe even tonight! Snow in Love

This image is from Digital-Ink Co. Isn’t it sooo cute!

I watercolored it and used Cosmic Cricket Jolly By Golly paper, Basic Grey buttons and my Martha Stewart punch on a kraft base.

Snow in Love close up I added lots of sparkle. I added “fur” to the snowman’s hat using grated Styrofoam balls and Stickles on the snowlady’s buttons, the hearts, snow, mistletoe berries as well as on the scallops on the nesties.

Challenges:
Cupcake Craft -- favorite Christmas carol (Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland)
Digital Tuesday -- inspired by Christmas song (Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland)

Crazy 4 Challenges -- snowmen

My Trip to Utah

I’ve talked about going to Utah to help my sister out when she has heart surgery. After a few postponements, she is having her surgery on Monday. If the weather holds out, I will be heading to Utah at the end of the week although I refuse to drive all that way on icy roads.

Anyway, I will bring a little cardmaking stash with me but I plan to mostly work on my scrapbook of my nieces wedding in August. The scrapbook is my wedding gift to her.

So, I just wanted to let you know what will be going on for the next several weeks. I’m looking forward to spending some time with my sister during her recovery. Especially when she starts feeling better and we can scrap together. She has some projects that she wants to work on too, so I will be bringing some of my stash for her as well.

Wish me luck on the scrapbooking adventure. I started out scrapbooking in this papercraft world but I’m much more comfortable making cards. If anyone knows of any good scrap layout challenge/sketch blogs, please let me know. I need all the inspiration I can get. My goal is to scrap several of the best photos with a single photo layout. Then maybe a three photo layout for several pages and then just mount several photos with only a few embellies for the rest of the pages. I plan to use the toile and lace from her wedding, ribbon, buttons and Cricut daisies for most of the embellies.

Well, now that I’ve bored you to death, thanks for hanging in there and be sure to enter my giveaway!!!

Blessings,

Christine

Silvery Baby

I said that I had some more silver images stamped and embosses and I think this is my favorite yet!

silvery baby I used the same technique for the DP as I did in my Silver Santa card. I tied the bow and added a button like I did for the Santa card but this is a much smaller image so it didn’t look complete.I was trying to figure out the jewels or pearls to use for embellies when I remembered that I had some feather floral picks. I cut the pick apart and added some feathers and the beads/leaves from the pick using Glossy Accents as glue. The embellies are nail heads and the sentiment is from the $1.00 bin at Michaels. I just love this card. The image is almost secondary to the beautiful bow!!!

My sis and I went shopping tonight and had a wonderful evening! We went out to dinner at Dave’s B-B-Q and I got a combo platter so I would have some to take home and I left my doggie bag there. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Man, now I have to cook tomorrow!

Okay, now I’m boring you! I still need to go through my list but I think I only have two more Christmas cards to make! Yay!!! I think I’m going to hand deliver the local ones though because it would cost a fortune to mail them with all the embellies!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Blessings,

Christine

Challenges:
2 Sketches 4 U -- sketch
Creative Card Crew -- silver or gold
Spoon Full of Sugar -- monochromatic

Blue Plate Special

I try to come up with clever names for my cards and they usually come to me as I’m coloring them. When I decided to use the blue as the kitchen towel and table cloth, I knew the name when I was painting the plate blue!

blue plate special angle

I didn’t really do a good job gluing the flowers on but once they were on, they were on. Anyway, I love this image. You could make it for many occasions. I think technically it was listed as a fall stamp but It goes just as well for Christmas. I think it would be great painted for “As American as Apple Pie” as well. They are from Belles n' Whistles.

I water colored the image and then sponged some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink around the edges and to make a kind of floor. The DP is all Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. I colored the flat back pearls and stick pin with Bic markers. The poinsettias are cut from velvet paper with the Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge. The sentiment is from Studio G. I added some ribbon and that’s that!

I’m off to do some more creating!!!

Christine

You can't go out the window. How long do you sit in the bathroom and how do you occupy your time?  Okay first of all, I don’t close the door when I shower; and second, what’s the difference between humidity and moisture?  I’d do my hair, makeup, a mani/pedi.  You get the idea.  It sounds like fun to me!!!  I’d be staying there till the door opened because I would have no other choice.

Fluttery Angel Tag

This is the 5th post I’ve done today but only two that you can see here.  I have posted on the Just Buggin’ DT gallery and two scheduled posts for JB.  Phew!  ‘Scuse me if I don’t have much to say tonight!

Okay, now onto my Flutterby Wednesday card.

09-12-09The challenge this week is to make a winter themed card and to include a butterfly, fairy or angel.  I made a simple tag for the challenge.  I cut the somewhat egg shaped tag with the Tags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge.

I stamped a Hero Arts clear stamp with Versa Mark and heat embossed it silver.  I cut another tag from DCWV silver metalic paper (it kind of looks like duck tape) and added a snowflake shaped eyelet.  I strung some ribbon and string through, tied a bow and then tied the button with the string.  I sponged a little gray chalk to kind of tone down the bright white cardstock.

If you'd like to play along, go check out all of the other lovely DT blogs by clicking on their links on the right sidebar and then go to Danni’s Dreams to link up your card.

Challenges:
The Pink Elephant -- favorite Christmas color combo
Whimsy Stamps -- die cuts
Papertake Weekly -- no red or green
Gingersnap Creations -- monochromatic

A Just Buggin’ Butterfly

I did it again!  I forgot to post my Just Buggin’ project.  I send these projects to Samantha a week before the challenge which makes it almost two weeks before I need to post.  From now on, when I post it on the JB DT gallery, I’m going to make a scheduled post as well.

I sometimes struggle for inspiration with these challenges and this one was no exception.  But usually, by the time I get it done, I’m quite happy with it and this is no exception.

14 butterfly inspireOur challenge this week was to use layered Cricut die cuts on your project.  This is a 12x12 home dec project.  Once again, I used Design Studio to design this project so I can’t give you any measurements.  However, I’ve been keeping track so I will be able to for future projects.

I used the Home Accents cartridge for this project.  I cut the butterfly in blackout three times.  Once in blackout dark blue and then in matching DP and light blue with the flourished trail trimmed off.  The Inspire sentiment is from the Home Accents cartridge and the flourishes are from the Storybook cartridge.

The DP is K&Co. and I watercolored the background paper.  I colored some flat back pearls with Bic markers to match the cardstock and added them to the flourishes and to the butterfly.

I hope you enjoyed!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Now I’m going to create and schedule my post for next week!

Blessings,

Christine

My Awesome Niece!!!

DSCN1400_00

I have talked about my niece, Katrina, several times on her blog. Mostly in association with her beautiful children. Those of us in the family have always known that she is a wonderful Mom but now all of America knows! She one the National Head Start Association's PARENT OF THE YEAR!!! Plus, she did all that while not only taking her family but also taking college courses!

It started small, locally. Then the next thing we new, statewide, followed by regional and now NATIONAL.

I am so proud of her!!!

Blessings,

Christine

This is a picture of her at her 30th (in August) shortly after she had her fifth baby. Doesn’t she look great! She got an Edible Bouquet!!!

Crimson Trees

I got another silver creation made yesterday but I’m saving it for Flutterby Wednesday.  Now I have a simple tag to share with you.

100_4824 I was working on this late at night last night and wanted to get the picture taken.  I usually mess around with my bows for quite some time to get them the way I want and I just didn’t have the motivation last night!  I think these tags will be beautiful added to a present.  With these hand tied bows, they won’t need much more adornment.

I used a small stamp from Hero Arts stamped multiple times along a line of paper.  I stamped two others to cut out and pop up.  I embossed them with Zing embossing powder and added some rhinestones (colored with a Bic maker).  I cut the tag using Cricut Tags, Boxes and More Cartridges with Design Studio so I could get the sizing just right.  I also cut the S.E.I. DP in the same shape but trimmed the top notch of that piece.

Now that I see the picture, I think I’ll add a few more rhinestones to the DP before putting the tag on a gift!

Blessings,

Christine

Silver Santa

Silver Santa Sometimes dreams come true!  I dreamt this card; well part of it anyway.  I thought it would look nice to emboss this Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Santa in silver.  I even went to Joann’s to get the embossing powder.  I also came up with the jingle bells and vintage white buttons in my dreams.  From there, it was trial and error to come up with this design.  But I love how it turned out!!!

I stamped the Santa with Versa Mark ink and embossed him with silver embossing powder.  I then cut him out with my Nesties, distressed the edges and rubbed gray chalk ink on the distressed edges.  I knew I didn’t have any background paper to go with this so my first thought was to Cuttlebug emboss the background but then thought that would be too bright of a white.  So I gathered up some smaller stamps from my Clear Art Stamps Vintage Christmas set and stamped the background with the second impression to make a light background.  I then sponged the same gray chalk ink on some white cardstock for the second background paper.  I used it on the small panel and the base of the easel card.

Silver Santa close upYou can see if you look really close in this close up but trust me, it looks perfect for this embossed image.

I added my favorite wide organza ribbon with a bow and a vintage button (from my thrift store button bottle) and some jingle bells (from the dollar store).

Silver Santa sentimentI added a sentiment to the easel card base using Versa Mark and silver embossing powder.  The sentiment stamp is a Fiskars clear stamp and snowflakes are from the Clear Art Stamp set.  I added a couple more buttons from the vintage white button bottle to the center of the snowflakes!

I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Christmas in the Old Country challenge.

That’s about it!!!  I’m off to create some more silver cards!!!  I love them!

Bee Crafty Ornament

I wasn’t feeling well last night so I went to bed early before I got a chance to post my Bee Crafty project. Our challenge this week is Christmas Extras. Make a gift, bag, tag, wrap, decoration, etc, but not a card. I made an ornament using the cute little wish fairies.

snowflake ornament boyI used shaker card pouches from Impression Obsession and put the little wish fairies in the middle to make a snow globe kind of ornament. I added some sugary glitter and beads to the pouches. Tip: Put the lid on your glitter immediately or you might spill the remainder of the bottle on your carpet!

snowflake ornament girl The poor little girl fairy got a bead stuck on her head and I can’t get it loose.

I colored the fairies with my Copics and added a snowflake cut with the Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge.

If you would like to play along with the Bee Crafty challenge, follow the link to see all of the other ladies beautiful projects and then make one of your own. You just need to follow the theme and use a digi image on your project.

Blessings,

Christine

Olde Time Santa

When I lived in Omaha, I volunteered for the Omaha Community Theater. Every year they performed a beautiful version, written by the Executive Director of the theater, of a Christmas Carol. When I saw this set of Tim Holtz Christmas stamps, they reminded me of the years (and there were several) that I worked back stage. It was one of my favorite Christmas traditions.

Olde Time Santa I have had a devil of a time today! I struggled with my project for the Bee Crafty challenge that I will be posting on Saturday. Too make a long story short, it started with having to redo everything except coloring the image and ended with spilling the remainder of my sugary glittered sweetness on the carpet. With this card, I had to redo the punched panel twice because I glued the DP on upside down. I also had to redo the sentiment panel but I don’t believe it was my fault. The stamp was mounted with Tim Holtz logo on upside down. I’ll just blame it on Tim, how’s that!!!

Speaking of Tim, have you been to his blog to see his 12 days of Christmas tags. I plan to do the tags that I have the supplies for. He did his third day today but I only have the supplies for the first day. Maybe I can get the time for that tomorrow. Oh, I just went to his blog to get the link and his new tag is up already! You’ve got to go see. He has some wonderful techniques that I’ve not seen before! He has so many great techniques each day so far!!!

Ok, quick deets about my card because it’s past my bedtime. You already know the stamps are Tim Holtz and I water colored Santa. The DP is from Hobby Lobby and I colored all of the pearls with a Copic.

Speaking of Hobby Lobby, while I was driving around the other day, I saw that they are building a Hobby Lobby in Boise. I can’t wait!!! We don’t have any stores that carries the variety of products the Hobby Lobby does. Can you believe that there is no place in Boise where I can buy Nesties and Copics just to name a few. I have to go to Utah or order online for a lot of my supplies.

Anyway, it’s after 2:00 am and I have to get to bed!!!

Blessings,

Christine

It's a totally random Thursday again!

Welcome to the December 3rd version of Thursday Thunks!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color snow white and the number 8 (days until my birthday).

6a00e54ed93aa6883301156e75289b970c-500wi 1. Sometimes when you are sitting around doing nothing, a thought randomly pops into your head. How many measuring cups do you own? I have no idea!  If you count all the individual ones that come in sets, probably over a dozen!

2. What is your favorite ice cream topping?  What else is there?  HOT FUDGE!!!

3. Egg nog - is it digestible? I love egg nog.  Especially my homemade kind!  Yummy!!!!!

2008285_f496 4. Were you one of the insane humans who went to a store last Friday?  Yes, but I went to a small town near here at 9:00 am and bought a GPS cheaper than they were at Walmart.  There wasn’t even a line.  If you know me, getting up to be out by 9:00 am is like someone else getting up at 5:00 am!

news02 5. There are 12 months in a year, anywhere from 28 - 31 days in a month, depending on the year, of course. Each day holds a special meaning for someone, some days hold a special meaning for everybody. Do you have a 2010 calendar yet? Several! They all came in the mail un-requested!

KF-00055-C 6. Kids are funny sometimes and say the darndest things, but it's ok because they are kids and they are so adorable. A two year old is cute when they say a swear word. Admit it, they are. What was your favorite nursery rhyme growing up? Hey - if you don't have a favorite, just work with me here and pick the first one that fell off the wall and broke like an egg or came out of the sky like a cow who just jumped over the moon.  Mary had a Little Lamb!

100_2658 7. Most of us have some type of machine that people like to call 'vehicles'. Some are blue, some are yellow, some are red. Some have trunks, some have beds and some even can't decide if they are a car or a truck. We put gas in them, check the oil and drive them all over the place and stop them in places called parking spots. Picture in your mind the machine you currently own and if you own more than one, picture the one you last drove - when was the last time you had a new tire on it? I’ve never had a new tire on it.  When I had to buy tires, they had a really good set of used in my size.  Since I drive a truck, that’s a good thing.  I’d have to take out a second mortgage to get new tires.

8. For those of us on Facebook, do you wish to share your Facebook identity with us?  I don’t think so.  I’m VERY private! (tee-hee)

is098r7dq 9. Santa's coming! Where's the best place to hide presents? Any clever little tricks for keeping those nosey people from ruining the surprise? My sister used to hide her daughters presents at my house.  Now that she’s married, maybe her husband will want to hide her presents here.

10. Have you heard that the world is going to end in 2012? Some people think that the world isn't actually going to go BOOM! and be no more, they think that the "end of the world" is actually going to be a worldwide takeover by a certain country and/or religion, which all has to do with the current president of the USA. Do you agree? HUH???

blies 11. Butterly, butterfly fluttering through the air, please don't land on my freshly washed hair. What brand of shampoo did you use this morning? (and for those of you who still stink.. think of yesterday morning... and if that still doesn't apply to you - go get your stinky butt in the shower!)  Suave.  I found this picture a long time ago and finally have a place to use it.

Blessings,

Christine
